About The Event
GNE’S APEX 2026, an exhilarating and highly awaited inter-school multievent competition, is proudly organized by the esteemed Causmic Club under the aegis of the Department of Applied Sciences, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana.
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes collaboration among educational institutions to build a supportive and enriching environment for all students, GNDEC is thrilled to host this grand event.
General Guidelines
- Students must carry their ID cards issued by their respective institution.
- Students of classes 9th-12th are eligible to participate in this event.
- All the participants must reach the college at 8:30 AM on the day of the competition.
- Refreshments will be provided.
- Any participant found using unfair means will be immediately disqualified.
- Students must be accompanied by their respective school teachers.
- One student can participate in 1 event only.
- The decision of the panel of judges will be final and binding.
- No participant can point out/make any derogatory remark about any individual/religion in any way and any dual-meaning obscene content is strictly not allowed in any of the competitions (either written or spoken).
- Participants must not reveal their identity in any of the competitions. School codes will be assigned to every institution.
- If any spoken/written introduction is required, the participant will speak/write his/her school code only.
- The teacher coordinator is requested to fill the form herself/himself only once.
- The form will stop collecting responses after 12 noon on 26th October 2026 (Monday).
- There is no registration fee. On-the-spot registrations will not be accepted.
- The teacher coordinator must carry an authority letter containing the list of all participants.
- All the participants are advised to bring their mobile phones for effective communication.
- For event specific queries the contacts have been provided along with the rules of that specific event.

- Time Limit: 60 minutes.
- Size: A4 ivory sheet (will be provided).
- Participants must bring their own set of pencils.

Create a Rangoli based on one of the listed themes.
- It is an individual competition.
- Only 1 participant is allowed per institution.
- Participants have to make rangoli on any one of the following themes/topics: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Punjabi Virsa, Incredible India, Yoga & Meditation, Digital India.
- Participants have to bring their own material.
- Time Limit: 120 minutes.
- 2 x 2 Feet space will be provided.

Generate appropriate responses using ChatGPT from multiple prompts given on the spot.
- It is an individual competition.
- Only 1 participant is allowed per institution.
- Participants will be given multiple prompts on the spot and participants have to generate appropriate responses using ChatGPT.
- Participants must bring their own devices (mobile phones / tabs / laptops) and internet connection.

A logo designing competition with the topic/theme given on the spot.
- It is an individual competition.
- Only 1 participant is allowed per institution.
- It is a logo designing competition.
- Topic/Theme will be given on the spot.
- Time Limit: 60 minutes.
- Permitted Design Tools: Google Slides, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, MS-Office, Paint.
- Internet access will be allowed only for using Canva and Google Slides.
- Size: 800 x 800 pixels.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, although computers will be available for use during the event.
- In case participants are unable to bring their own laptops, we will only provide Paint, Canva and Google Slides for their use.

Create a reel of the competitions in the college and the APEX FAIR.
- It is an individual competition.
- Only 1 participant is allowed per institution.
- Participants have to make a reel (not exceeding 1 minute) of the competitions going on in the college as well as the APEX FAIR.
- If any participant wants to give voiceover to the reel, then it must be in English only.
- Participants must bring their own devices/cameras.

A solo Sufi singing competition.
- It is a solo sufi singing competition.
- Therefore, only 1 student is allowed per institution.
- Time Limit: 3 to 5 minutes.
- Negative marking for exceeding time limit.
- Participant must bring their own instrument or instrumental music (in a pen drive), if required.
- Maximum 3 instrumentalists can join the participant.
- Any electronic instrument is not allowed.

A written examination covering reasoning, aptitude and general English.
- It is an individual competition.
- Only 1 participant is allowed per institution.
- Structure: Only 1 written round comprising of 50 MCQ type questions will be conducted.
- Syllabus: Verbal and Non verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General English.
- Time Limit: 60 minutes.
- Scores: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect, 0 for un-attempted.

Build one website using the provided assets and an on-the-spot theme.
- A team must comprise of 2 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- Participants have to make one website. All the assets will be provided.
- The theme will be given on the spot.
- Time Limit: 90 minutes.
- Compulsory Languages- HTML & CSS.
- Optional Language- JavaScript.
- Permitted Platform- Any offline code/text editor.
- Internet access will not be allowed.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops, although computers will be available for use during the event.
- In case participants are unable to bring their own laptops, only Notepad and VS Code will be provided for their use.
- Only 1 device is allowed per team.

Solve a continuous storyline by writing SQL queries.
- A team must comprise of 2 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- The event will follow a continuous storyline, where each level is solved by writing SQL queries.
- The event will consist of three levels. The answer from 1 level will serve as the clue for the 2 level and the answer from 2 level will serve as the clue for the 3 level.
- Time Limit: 90 minutes.
- A separate database for each level will be provided to every team.
- The first 3 teams to solve all the levels will be declared winning teams.

A live mock interview with an interviewer and interviewee acting as a politician/public figure.
- A team must comprise of 2 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- One participant will assume the role of the interviewer, dressed formally, while another participant will take the role of the interviewee, dressed as a politician/public figure.
- Choose any one of the following politicians: NITIN GADKARI, HARJOT SINGH BAINS, C. JOSEPH VIJAY, REKHA GUPTA, GANIEVE KAUR MAJITHIA, PRIYANKA GANDHI, ABHIJEET DIPKE, NAMITA THAPAR.
- The topic for the interview (related to the chosen personality) will be provided on the spot. 5 minutes brainstorming time will be given. The interview must have a proper conclusion.
- Time Limit- 5 to 6 minutes. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
- Medium of conversation: English/Hindi/Punjabi but once a language is chosen, it cannot be changed.

Present a prepared working model around STEM, incorporating hardware or IoT.
- A team must comprise of 3 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- The team must come prepared with their working model.
- The topic for the working model must revolve around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
- Projects are required to include hardware or IoT, not solely software or coding.

A silent performance conveying a story or message.
- A team must comprise 6 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- The performance should be a silent act conveying a story or message.
- Participants must bring their own music in a pen drive.
- No props are allowed.
- Choose any one of the following topics: CHILD LABOUR, DOWRY, POLLUTION, POVERTY, GENDER DISCRIMINATION.
- Time Limit: 4-6 minutes. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
- The performance must be decent and must not contain any offensive content.

Design, assemble and program an autonomous Line Following Robot.
- A team must comprise 4 participants.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- This is an event in which you have to make a Line Following Robot.
- Teams must design, assemble and program the control circuit themselves. Only ready-made IR sensor arrays are permitted; all other ready-made kits are prohibited.
- Wireless communication of any kind is not allowed.
- The robot must complete the track fully autonomously.
- Timing starts when the robot is released from the start line and stops when it completely crosses the finish line.
- The fastest valid completion time determines the winner.
- In case of a tie, ranking will be decided by: Fewer penalties; Fewer touches; Faster second-best attempt.
- Each team will receive 3 official attempts and the best valid timing will be considered.
- Program modifications, hardware repairs and sensor alignment are permitted only between two consecutive attempts.
- The competition track will be revealed only on the day of the event.
- The track may include straight paths, 90° turns, smooth curves, round corners, semicircles and circular loops.
- The line will have a width of 2 cm.
- Any violation of the rules will result in immediate disqualification.

Teachers showcase a practically effective classroom management strategy or technique through a PowerPoint presentation.
- This event is only for teachers.
- A team must comprise of 2 teachers.
- Only 1 team is allowed per institution.
- A team must showcase one classroom management strategy or technique that they have personally used or consider it as practically effective in the form of a PowerPoint presentation.
- The strategy should be relevant to real classroom situations.
- A team may structure their PPT around: The Challenge → The Trick → How It Works → Classroom Example → The Result.
- Time Limit: 5 to 7 minutes. Negative marking for exceeding the time limit.
